The Embassy - Security Overview

The perimeter and external security around the apartments is provided through CCTV cameras and a "First Layer” team of security guards, with controlled access through centralised access points. These access points are located at the base of each of the towers and at the main entrance into the complex.

All external CCTV cameras are housed in protective outdoor housings (fig.1) and are manned 24/7 and are fully controllable from the Security Control Room located within a restricted area in the complex. (fig.2)

Access into the complex:

  • Pedestrians. (Resident)

The Resident will access the complex at the main entrance located on Main Street. This area is manned by the "Second Layer" security team and is access controlled by means of RFID and Biometrics devices. The Resident will simply walk up to the access device (mantrap, turnstile) and present their finger to the biometrics scanner. The RFID tag will be read and the Residents ID will be verified. The Resident may now access the complex and make their way to a public area or enter their block, where further security controls will be in place.

  • Pedestrians. (Guest)

The Guest access into the complex will follow the same steps as the Resident. However a *pre-registration has to be completed by the Resident expecting the Guest. This can be done on the Residents touch-pad within their apartment, or by accompanying the Guest to the security office based in the welcome area. Here the Resident will have to present their access card and fingerprint thereafter the security personnel will register the Guest. All guests, whether pre-registered or registering on arrival, will have a fingerprint scanned into the system and will be issued their own RFID access card.

  • Motorist. (Resident)

Will access the complex via the main entrance located on Main Street and proceed down into the common vehicle access point. Here all vehicles drive up to the boom. The colour, number plate and transducer of the car is scanned. Once all three have been verified the Resident will granted access into the complex. The Resident will only be able to proceed to their block of residence or any other area that is listed in their profile.

  • Motorist. (Guest)

The Guest access into the complex will follow the same steps as the Resident. However a *pre-registration has to be completed by the Resident expecting the Guest. This can be done on the Residents touch-pad within their apartment, or by meeting the Guest at the security office based in the welcome area. The Guest will be asked by security to park their vehicle in the welcome area parking and proceed to the security office. Here the Resident will have to present their access card and fingerprint thereafter the security personnel will register the Guest. All guests, whether pre-registered or registering on arrival, will have a fingerprint scanned into the system and will be issued their own RFID access card and pin. The Guest can now proceed through the boom as with the Resident process, however the Guest will have to enter the pin on a pin pad that was issued to them by security. All pre-registered members will receive their pins via SMS or e-mail.
